What is DEAF?

The Depositor Education and Awareness Fund was established by RBI under Section 26A of the Banking Regulation Act. Unclaimed deposits that remain inoperative for 10 years or more are transferred to this fund, but depositors can still claim their money through the bank

How to Claim Your Deposit

Identify your deposit

Check whether you have an unclaimed or inoperative deposit with the bank.

Visit the branch

Visit the branch where the account was held with valid identity proof.

Submit claim form

Fill and submit the DEAF claim form with required documents.

Verification & credit

After verification, the amount will be credited to your account.

Documents Required

  • DEAF claim form
  • Valid photo ID (Aadhaar / PAN / Voter ID)
  • Passbook or account statement
  • Address proof
  • Legal heir certificate (if applicable)
  • Death certificate (if account holder is deceased)
